I'm Back

Another New Year resolution that is easy to break, but I'm back typing!

Like many days in the tech world, busy with answering user questions, fixing & trying to figure out hardware & software issues, plus I have been sick for over a week - Flu Bug!

Many busy things are happening in the district, 2nd quarter grades are due, teacher projects, & keeping the technology running! Some of the issues have been:
printer dropping off the network
email on teacher laptops having issues
two teacher laptops needed utilities run
checking grades for teachers for report card - is electronic grade book working?
are teachers following instructions - uh-ohhhh
Student video project using iMovie
making sure users are backing up properly
And the list goes on...


Issues to look at the next few weeks will be:

Internet Safety program
Contacting guest speaker for internet safety
Embedded learning training for teachers in the CFF grant
Tech Meeting next week - discuss Apple Dashboard & Widgets

Time to get to work - phone is ringing & faculty meeting is coming up!

Back to work in 2008

Coming back to school after the Christmas & New Year break is always fun! What does a tech specialist do the first day back? Here we go:

Arrived at 6:15 AM
Set up computer & started to answer email
Checked calendar for the week
Check MDF, the closet was re-organized (uh-oh look out for network problems!)
Cleaned up & restarted computer lab @ CMS
Checked into Lesson Plan applications for a classroom teacher
Found first network issue - drop # 1c-294 - science classroom
Found issue, drop not plugged in - still was very difficult to follow wiring & fix!
Check speaker issue with Art teacher - needed speakers for projection device in classroom
Created new document for middle school teacher backups - How to Back Up to Server

Well, 2008 started as 2007 ended! My gameplan for my blog is to record daily life of a tech
specialist & experience life of a Blogger!

New Year Resolution

Begin my first Blog!! Here goes!
